Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need accounting experience?

None. You start with bookkeeping basics and build from there.

How long do I get?

Eighteen months of access, and about 400 hours of study.

Are there exams?

The college sets none. AAT does, and five assessments sit on the AAT side. Three are waived once you finish the Diploma.

How do I sit the AAT exams?

You book them with Pitman Training, online or at a centre. Ask the Student Success Team for your exam code first.

Do I need a certain computer?

Yes, for the AAT assessments. They need Windows 11 and an installed copy of Microsoft Office.

How do I get AAT membership?

Finish all of the Diploma in Accounting, then ask AAT within 90 days.

Is this course accredited?

It is accredited by ICOES and the CPD Standards Office, and the college is an AAT Approved Training Provider. It is not a QQI course and not a national award. What it does give you is the AAT route, with three exams waived and two paid.

When can I start?

Any day. There are no set start dates and no class times.
