Get Course helps people find and enquire about online courses, and connects prospective students with education providers.
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Get Course is the data controller of personal data collected through these websites. You can contact us about anything in this policy, or about your personal data, at hello@getcourse.co.
Information you give us. When you submit an enquiry form, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number, and the course or study area you are interested in.
Information collected automatically. With your consent, we and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at our site. We use your personal data on the following legal bases:
To respond to your enquiry (taking steps at your request). When you submit an enquiry, we use your details to process it, to send you a confirmation email with your course details, and to connect you with the education provider offering the course you asked about, so that a student advisor can contact you about your enquiry.
With your consent. Where you have accepted cookies via the cookie banner, we use advertising and analytics cookies as described in the Cookies section, and we may share limited enquiry details (in hashed form) with our advertising platforms to measure which advertising led to your enquiry. Where you have agreed to it, Get Course may also send you occasional course news and offers by email; every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can withdraw either consent at any time: cookie consent via the Cookie settings link in the footer or the Cookies button on any page, and email consent by using the unsubscribe link in any message or by emailing us.
Legitimate interests. We process limited data to run, secure and improve our website and services, and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising, in ways that do not override your rights and freedoms.
The education provider. When you enquire about a course, we pass your enquiry details to the education provider offering that course so they can contact you and process your enquiry. The provider of each course is identified on the relevant course page. Their handling of your data is described in their own privacy policy, available on their website.
Service providers. We use trusted third parties to operate our websites and advertising, including our website and database hosting providers, our enquiry-page hosting platform (Swipepages) and its consent management platform (CookieYes) on my.getcourse.co, and, subject to your cookie consent, Meta (Facebook/Instagram advertising), Google (advertising and analytics) and OpenAI (ChatGPT advertising). These providers process data on our behalf or as separate controllers under their own policies. Where you have not accepted cookies, no enquiry details are shared with advertising platforms.
We do not sell your personal data.
Get Course operates from Australia and your enquiry data is processed on our systems in Australia. For these transfers, we rely on appropriate safeguards, including the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. Where an education provider you enquire with is located outside the European Union, their processing of your data is covered by their own privacy policy and safeguards. You can contact us for more information.
We keep enquiry data for up to 24 months after our last interaction with you, after which it is deleted or anonymised, unless a longer period is required by law.
On getcourse.co, a cookie banner asks for your consent before any analytics or advertising cookies are set; you can accept or reject them with a single click or choose by category (analytics and advertising separately), and change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer or the Cookies button shown on every page. Where you have not accepted, our Google tag runs in consent mode, which stores no cookies and sends only cookieless signals. On our enquiry pages at my.getcourse.co, a separate banner performs the same role. Necessary cookies and storage, which enable the basic operation of the site and allow us to attribute your enquiry to the campaign that brought you here, are always active.
