Who It’s For

Why Do This Course

A Way Into Office Work

Admin roles sit in every business, and most begin at reception.

Upskill In Your Current Role

Payroll, accounts and Excel make you useful past the front desk.

Study Around Your Week

There are no set start dates, so you begin when ready.

Where The Skills Fit

Where These Skills Could Take You

Admin work sits behind every business, so the openings are wide. Days look like emails, diaries, invoices and keeping people sorted.

Office Administrator

Keep the paperwork and systems ticking over.

Administrative Assistant

Customer Service Administrator

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need admin experience?

None at all. There are no entry requirements and no prior study needed.

Do I need to be good at Excel?

The Excel topic starts at the beginning. Confidence with spreadsheets is built here, not assumed.

How long does it take?

You set the pace. There are no set start dates. You can stop and pick it up later.

Are there exams?

None, ever. You work through the topics in your own time.

Which software is covered?

Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sage, QuickBooks and Xero.

Do I get help finding work?

Yes. Career coaching, a CV review and the Career Centre come with it.

Is this course accredited?

It is accredited by ICOES and the CPD Standards Office. It is not a QQI course and not a national award. For admin work, employers tend to look at the software and the systems, and that is what this covers.

What if it is not for me?

Talk to a course advisor before you enrol. They will say plainly if another course suits you better.
