Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need a background in this?

None at all. It is built for people starting out.

How much study is it?

Around one hundred hours, taken at your own speed.

Are there exams?

None, ever. You work through the modules and finish.

Is any of it upsetting?

Parts of it can be. The course carries a content warning.

Is this course accredited?

It carries ICOES, IARC and CPD Standards Office accreditation. It is not a QQI course and not a national award. It is an introduction to family work.

Will this make me a family therapist?

It gives you the language and the methods. It does not qualify you to practise as a counsellor or psychotherapist in Ireland. Support and liaison roles are the usual next step.

What if it is not right for me?

There is a fourteen day money back window, less the admin fee.

Who should I talk to first?

A course advisor. Tell them your plan and ask if this fits.
