Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need experience?

None needed. No previous psychology or counselling study is required.

How long is it?

Access runs six months. The course is about one hundred and ten hours.

Are there exams?

None, ever. You move through the ten topics at your pace.

Can I practise as a counsellor after this?

This is an introduction. It will not put you on the register. It does give you a clear view of the field. That comes before you spend years on it.

Does it lead to psychology registration?

It does not open a registration pathway in Ireland. It does not qualify anyone to practise as a psychologist or psychotherapist. It is study for understanding and support work.

Will a university give me credit?

That call belongs to the receiving institution alone. No credit or advanced standing is promised here.

Is this course accredited?

It is accredited by ICOES and the CPD Standards Office. It is not a QQI course and not a national award. It is not a professional mental health qualification. As an introduction, it is solid ground to stand on.

What if it is not for me?

There is a money back window. An advisor will confirm the terms before you enrol.
