Who It’s For

Why Do This Course

Work With Dogs All Day

Grooming is one of the few dog jobs you can build yourself.

Know The Dog Under The Coat

Biology, health, nutrition and behaviour come before the clippers.

Set Up On Your Own Terms

The business of grooming is a topic. Pricing and clients get covered.

Where The Skills Fit

Where These Skills Could Take You

Grooming work sits in salons, daycares and mobile vans. A day is a booking every hour or two, plus drying.

Dog Groomer

Wash, clip and finish, breed by breed.

Pet Stylist

Cut to the standard the owner wants.

Animal Grooming Technician

Coat and skin care across species.

Mobile Pet Grooming Operator

Take the salon to the customer.

Kennel Grooming Assistant

Keep boarding dogs clean and comfortable.

Animal Care Technician

Handling, health checks and daily care.

Dog Daycare Groomer

Tidy ups between play sessions.

Grooming Salon Assistant

Prep, dry and support the groomer.

Roles where these skills are useful, not promised outcomes. Every role is different. Most groomers build hands on speed alongside the theory.

Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need experience?

None needed. You do not need a salon or confidence with every dog.

How long is it?

Access runs twelve months. Both parts come to about three hundred hours.

Are there exams?

None, ever. You work through each certificate at your pace.

Is it hands on?

The course is theory, online. You build speed on dogs in your own time.

Is the business side covered?

Yes. The business of grooming is a topic in the second certificate.

Do I need my own tools?

Not to study. You will want your own kit once you start on dogs.

Is this course accredited?

It is accredited by ICOES and the CPD Standards Office. It is not a QQI course and not a national award. Grooming customers judge the finish, and this teaches the craft behind it.

What if it is not for me?

There is a money back window. An advisor will confirm the terms before you enrol.
