Good to Know

Common Questions

Do I need any background?

None at all. It suits beginners and people already in support work.

How long do I get?

Twelve months of access, and around three hundred hours of material.

Are there exams?

None, ever. You move through the seven programmes at your own speed.

What is the mental health part about?

Risk factors, workplace mental health, suicide response and duty of care.

Is this course accredited?

It carries ICOES, IARC and CPD Standards Office accreditation. It is not a QQI course and not a national award. It is a grounding for support work.

Can I work as a mental health professional after this?

You will be a stronger support worker for it. It does not qualify you to work as a registered psychologist, counsellor or psychotherapist in Ireland. Those roles need approved study and registration.

What if it turns out to be wrong for me?

There is a fourteen day money back window, less the admin fee.

Who should I talk to first?

A course advisor. Tell them your plan and ask if this fits.
