Whether you are new to this or already in a support role, this goes wide. Seven programmes cover psychology, counselling skills and techniques, professional practice and mental health. Study runs online, in the gaps you have.
Seven programmes rather than one or six.
Risk, workplace, and responding to violence.
Listening, questioning and finding solutions.
Mental health, addiction and community teams all want this ground. The college calls it a starting point and suggests further training or a placement.
Support people living with a diagnosis.
Back up a team out in the community.
Work alongside young people in a service.
Support people through recovery programmes.
Sit with families through rough patches.
Run wellbeing sessions for a group or workplace.
Help people rebuild routine after a setback.
Take services to people who will not come in.
Roles where these skills help, not promised outcomes. Counselling roles in Ireland need approved study and registration.
Seven programmes run from psychology basics through to mental health practice.
Why people take the full seven.
Fundamentals, then skills, then conduct.
Freud, Adler, Gestalt, REBT and CBT.
Mental health at work, and duty of care.
Plus a year of association membership
Issued by the college when you finish.
A year with the International Association for Counselling.
Credits toward your professional growth.
A service, a ward, or nowhere yet.
An advisor will be straight about registration.
Upfront, or weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
Enrol and open the first programme.
None at all. It suits beginners and people already in support work.
Twelve months of access, and around three hundred hours of material.
None, ever. You move through the seven programmes at your own speed.
Risk factors, workplace mental health, suicide response and duty of care.
It carries ICOES, IARC and CPD Standards Office accreditation. It is not a QQI course and not a national award. It is a grounding for support work.
You will be a stronger support worker for it. It does not qualify you to work as a registered psychologist, counsellor or psychotherapist in Ireland. Those roles need approved study and registration.
There is a fourteen day money back window, less the admin fee.
A course advisor. Tell them your plan and ask if this fits.
This course is delivered by The Career Academy.
It is accredited through ICOES and the International Accreditation and Recognition Council, and by the CPD Standards Office.
Picture the morning you walk in knowing exactly what the day needs.
